WHY GIVE?
In the United States, an estimated 5.4 million people suffer from Alzheimer's disease, and another person develops the disease every 69 seconds. If this trend continues, it is predicted that by 2050, 16 million Americans will have Alzheimer's. As the sixth leading cause of death in this country, Alzheimer's disease devastates lives of patients and their families, creating not only physical and mental stress, but also economic burdens that can be insurmountable.
One of the most important goals of the KU Alzheimer's Disease Center is to develop strategies to reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease or prevent it entirely. Private philanthropy is a critical component of achieving this mission.
Join us in our endeavors to build support for continuing research efforts in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Your tax-deductible financial contribution will enable you to become a "Friend of the KU Alzheimer's Disease Center" and provide continuing support for Alzheimer's research at the University of Kansas.
